(Norman-AP) -- University of Oklahoma officials are rethinking their decision to ground the school's aerospace engineering degree program.
Last fall, deans in O-U's College of Engineering informed the 96 students in the program that it was being phased out and admissions were being suspended. But now officials say students will be able to enter back into the program next year.
Skip Porter is dean of the O-U College of Engineering. He says the aerospace engineering program will be reshaped to focus on intelligent systems for the industry. He says the university will overcome a shortage of engineering professors by bringing in faculty from other schools.
