(Tulsa-AP) -- The University of Tulsa basketball team wants Oklahomans to make a road trip this weekend to Dallas, where the Golden Hurricane is slated to take on Southern Methodist Saturday.
After last Saturday night's win against U-TEP, Tulsa players took to the public address system to urge people to support them at next weekend's game.
Apparently, many fans are already answering the call. Tulsa spokesman Don Tomkalski says the school's booster club has seven busloads of people ready to make the trip. Officials say 900 Tulsa fans have bought tickets.
Tulsa is in a tie for the Western Athletic Conference lead, but will probably need a win against S-M-U to win the title outright and get the top seed in the conference tournament. It's scheduled for March ninth through eleventh.
