LAFAYETTE, La. (AP) -- Ryan Gill's solo homer in the fourth inning and sophomore Jess Poche's two-run homer in the fifth boosted Louisiana-Lafayette to a 3-2 victory Sunday over Oklahoma.
Louisiana-Lafayette starter Justin Gabriel extended his scoreless streak to 16 consecutive innings before allowing one run in the ninth inning. Closer Aaron Wellborne gave up a double that scored a runner who had reached base against Gabriel.
Wellborne than gave up a run of his own before settling down for the save. With the victory, Louisiana-Lafayette (11-1) completed three-game series sweep of Oklahoma (6-5).
