The board of the Pittsburgh Public Schools is expected to vote on hiring a new superintendent tonight. Tulsa Public Schools superintendent Dr. John Thompson is up for the job and the Pittsburgh Post Gazette reports that Thompson is one of two finalists.

Thompson did not make a scheduled appearance at a school library dedication today and canceled a meeting with the Tulsa Classroom Teachers Association set for this afternoon. Tulsa Public Schools did not return phone calls from the News on Six concerning whether Thompson is in Tulsa this evening.
