Police evacuated a Catoosa truck stop for nearly two hours Saturday because they feared a pipe bomb was lodged near the gas pumps.
Catoosa police called Tulsa's bomb squad to check out the suspicious looking device. Bomb squad members say the PCV pipe resembled a pipe bomb because the cap was wrapped tightly with duct tape.
The bomb robot shot a beanbag at the pipe, breaking it open. Bomb squad members found nothing inside.
Bomb squad members say the person who spotted the device made the right call to police.
There were worries Friday afternoon about a suspected pipe bomb in Claremore.
The Rogers County courthouse was evacuated just after 2 p.m. when sheriff's deputies found a suspicious device in the pocket of a man they'd arrested. They were especially concerned because the man was in custody in connection with an explosion at a bar in Chelsea.
As it turned out, the device was just a flashlight with extra batteries taped outside.
