(Oklahoma City-AP) -- Some high school coaches would like to games to go faster. And they say a shot clock would help get rid of slow-down basketball. But others feel that favors high-caliber teams and is a detriment to the ones that aren't.

Cherie Myers is the Kingfisher girls coach. Myers says the coaches have discussed it and the vote has been in favor of a shot clock. The National Federation of State High School Associations is not recommending that any states use a shot clock. The federation can't require states to follow its rules but does have guidelines. California boys and girls use a shot clock. And several other states did in the 1998-99 season. Expense is the main issue that might slow a move to shot clocks.
