(Oklahoma City-AP) -- If Census estimates hold true, Oklahoma will lose a congressional seat while surrounding states will keep or gain seats. That's based on the latest population estimates from the U-S Census Bureau. Oklahoma would lose one of its six seats while Texas would gain two seats and Colorado would gain one.

The population gap that could cost Oklahoma a seat has widened in the past year. According to bureau estimates, Oklahoma is 60,900 people short of having enough population to hold on to its sixth congressional seat. Figures from last year showed that the state needed 37,800people to have enough population to keep the seat.
