(Tulsa-AP) -- Emergency officials in Oklahoma say preparations for Y2-K should include common sense and reason above all else. The American Red Cross has urged readiness at the same level of preparing for a winter storm.
Officials say that means about three to five days o f supplies. Bob Roberts is senior associate for planning and preparedness at the Red Cross. Roberts says the vitals for being ready for any Y2-K problems include food, a first aid kit, a full tank of gas, cash and copies of vital financial records.
Roberts says most people will already have what they need. He says the only difference with Y2-K and any other disaster is that people have the luxury of knowing the date.
