Few Americans know it, but the nation's most violent race riots took place in 1921 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, after a black man got on an elevator with a white woman. Nearly 80 years later, reparations may be made for the victims families in a little known tragedy of racial violence that may have claimed hundreds of black Americans whose bodies were never found.
