Braggs residents are mourning the deaths of their mayor and his ex-wife following an apparent murder-suicide.
The bodies of 65-year-old Norman Buck Hall and 57-year-old Tommie Jo Hall were discovered early Saturday morning. Authorities say Tommie Jo's sister, Margaret Champlain, returned home and found them in her living room. Both had sustained gunshot wounds.
Sergeant Richard Chisum is a deputy for the Muskogee County Sheriff's Department. Chisum says the couple apparently had been dead about six hours before their bodies were discovered.
Chisum says Buck Hall was found on the couch with a small caliber handgun in his hand. Police believe he shot Tommie Jo, who was found seated in a chair nearby, and then shot himself.
