The 1993 graduate of the University of Texas declined comment as he left jail -- but he did flash the U-T hook-'em horns sign.
Police say they traveled to McConaughey's home after receiving a complaint of loud music.
Officer Michael Olson says he entered McConaughey's house and could smell a faint odor of marijuana -- and found a shallow bowl
with marijuana stems and seeds in it and a pipe.

Defense attorney Joe Turner says police illegally searched McConaughey's house because they didn't have a search warrant.
Turner also alleges police used excessive force.
