CLAREMORE, Okla. (AP) -- Bail has been lowered for a man authorities believe was on his way to the Rogers County Courthouse to shoot a judge and others when he was arrested earlier this month.
Thomas K. Haley, had been held in lieu of $500,000 bond on a complaint of possession of a firearm after a former felony conviction. But investigators weren't able to prove he had a felony conviction so that complaint did not lead to a charge.
Bail was reduced Monday to $176,000 on two felony counts and a misdemeanor. Haley is accused of attempted shooting with intent to injure and possession of a firearm with a defaced serial number. He also is accused of the misdemeanor of transporting a loaded firearm.
Haley remained in jail today.
Haley's daughter had called the sheriff's office on Oct. 7 to say her father was on the way to the courthouse to "shoot people." A judge who signed a protective order was among the alleged targets.
A deputy saw Haley load guns into a pickup truck. Haley drove past the courthouse and was stopped by officers who found nine guns in the truck. Four of them were loaded. Haley said he was going to Tulsa to sell the guns.
