MUSKOGEE, Okla. (AP) -- A former Muskogee County assistant
district attorney is running for the Republican nomination for the
2nd Congressional District.

Stuart Ericson kicked off his campaign Tuesday with visits to
Muskogee, Sapulpa, Claremore and Miami.

Ericson is seeking the post being vacated by Rep. Tom Coburn,
R-Okla. Coburn said he would only serve three terms and is in the
middle of the third term.

Ericson said he is "concerned with issues that will shape the
future of America -- fiscal and social conservatism, a strong
national defense, less burdensome taxes and less governmentl
intrusion."
