(Okmulgee-AP) -- The Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms is expected to arrive today to begin investigating a recent Okmulgee fire. That blaze destroyed parts of a historic downtown block.
The help was prompted by preliminary findings of a certified fire investigator from the A-T-F office in Tulsa.
Although arson hasn't been ruled out, the cause of the fire remains undetermined. Samples were taken after an accelerant-sniffing dog pointed to several areas of the debris yesterday.
The Labor Day fire was the second downtown fire in Okmulgee in three months. A blaze on June 8th destroyed a half-block of buildings, including files in the district attorney investigator's office.
