(New York-AP) -- T-V talk show host Montel Williams says he has
multiple sclerosis.

Williams says he doesn't know how long he has had it. But at a
new conference in New York today, he said he has been misdiagnosed
for ten years.

Williams says he will work as long as he is physically able. His
doctor says they are discussing several recently approved drug
therapies.

Williams says he'll start raising money to find a cure for the
disease. Multiple sclerosis is caused when the body's immune system
attacks the nerves and brain. It slowly strips away the protective
sheath around nerve fibers.
