A growing Tulsa employer goes bankrupt. Pennsylvania-based DecisionOne has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.

The company, which provides computer support to other companies, says their records show dollar-for-dollar, debts outnumber assets nearly three to one. The bulk of DecisionOne's employees work in Tulsa.

Almost 2,000 people work in their south Tulsa call center near 81st and Lewis. DecisionOne operates three other call centers around the Midwest. Executives say the company plans to come out of bankruptcy in a matter of months, and in the meantime, things won't change for current employees. In fact, DecisionOne is still adding to its workforce.

The company holds job fairs every Tuesday, hoping to fill 40 to 50 open positions. DecisionOne call center director Shae Rath: "This puts us in a good position to strengthen the relationships we have, and that's what it's all about, it's about the customers and the employees and I'm very excited about the prospects for the future and things we'll be able to do."

Rath says since the community played such a role in the company's success in Tulsa, they always consider the impact bankruptcy, or even layoffs can have on the city.
