Pick a strawberry. That's what some students from Skiatook Intermediate School urged state Senators to do Tuesday in Oklahoma City.
Pam Bell's 5th grade students lobbied at the state capitol Tuesday in hopes of getting the strawberry named the state fruit. They researched Oklahoma and found the Sooner state doesn't have a state fruit.
The students worked with state Representative Joe Sweeden of Pawhuska to draft a bill to make the strawberry the state fruit.
That bill just passed in the state House. It's now up for vote in the state Senate.
