The Vision 2025 progress taking shape outside Tulsa city limits. Towns all over Tulsa County are putting Vision 2025 money to work.

One community is "pooling" its funds to bring a piece of local history back to life.

News on 6 anchor Terry Hood says the city pool in Skiatook was built more than 55 years ago, but it's been hard keeping the old pool up to snuff for these past several years. The pool's been in such bad shape that the city was forced to shut it down.

The propertyâ€™s been off limits for more than two years now, but Vision 2025 money should change all that. $300,000 will go to building the city a "new" pool. The pool planners hope to see, though, will cost more than $700,000.

The city of Skiatook has already matched the $300,000 in Vision 2025 funds, but is hoping the community will chip in to finish the job.

The fund-raising campaign got a big boost Wednesday when lifelong Skiatook resident AB Bayouth from the Exchange Bank of Skiatook donated $70,000 to the drive. "Growing up, that's where we had our swimming lessons, I had my 16th birthday party there. It was just a special place, and you need to leave some place better than what you found it.
