SALLISAW, Okla. (AP) -- A Joplin, Missouri, man dies when his car runs off I-40 and crashes.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says 58-year-old Troy -D- Walker suffered massive injuries and died at the scene of the 4:23 PM crash Tuesday in Sequoyah County.

Troopers say Walker's car was headed west on the highway when he apparently fell asleep. The vehicle ran off the road for about 480 feet and struck several trees before coming to rest.

Walker was pinned in the vehicle for about an hour before firefighters freed him.

Troopers say he was wearing a seat belt.
