OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- State Treasurer Robert Butkin is resigning to become dean of the University of Tulsa Law School.

Butkin announced Thursday at the state Capitol that he'll step down in June.

He'll replace Martin Belsky as dean of the TU law school. Belsky resigned as dean last August because of what he said are "policy differences" with Provost Roger Blais. Belsky is taking a two-semester sabbatical and plans to return as a tenured professor.

Butkin is in his third term as state treasurer and was unopposed for re-election in the last two elections.

Governor Brad Henry will appoint a successor to serve out the remaining two years of Butkin's current term as treasurer.
