ADA, Okla. (AP) -- A June 14th trial date was set Tuesday for a Konawa man accused of killing an East Central University student.
Ammon Reich[pictured] remains free on bail after an arraignment in Pontotoc County District Court Tuesday morning.
Reich is charged with first-degree murder and 32 counts of assault and battery in the September 19th death of Joseph Tusan.
Prosecutors say Tusan and a group of friends had gone to the Canadian River bridge near Ada to party when they encountered Reich and members of his family. An argument that included racial slurs began between the two groups before the students left in a pickup truck.
Authorities say Reich followed the truck and crashed into it from behind, throwing Tusan and the others out of the bed of the pickup. Several other students were injured and one is paralyzed from the chest down.
