OKMULGEE, Okla. (AP)-- A National Guard battalion is back in Oklahoma after serving in Iraq for a little more than a year.

More than 300 people filled an auditorium at Oklahoma State University's Okmulgee campus Monday to welcome home the 270 men and women of the 120th Engineer Battalion.

The troops were responsible for building roads, highways, airfields and doing other construction. They were stationed in both Baghdad and Fallujah.

More than 200 men and women from the battalion still remain in Kuwait. They are scheduled to return in about three weeks.

The battalion also served in World War II and the Korean War. Its members come from Okmulgee, Muskogee, Eufaula, Tahlequah, Stilwell, Wagoner, Pryor, Okemah and Henryetta.
