A 16-year-old girl is dead after a drive-by shooting in Tulsa early Saturday morning, as the girl’s family mourns her loss, Tulsa Police need help finding her killer.

16-year-old Eli Rue Craven was riding back from a restaurant with a friend, when a car pulled alongside them and opened fire.

It happened around 2:30 Saturday morning. Craven and a friend had just left the Chicken Shack and were driving west on 46th Street North.

That's when witnesses say a blue four-door car pulled up, started shooting, then sped away. The driver's side door was riddled with bullets but the driver was only grazed in the leg.

Craven was shot in the neck and died at the scene. The 16-year-old was a sophomore at Tulsa's Central High School.

Tulsa Police Sgt John McDowell: "It reminds you that life is precious and fragile and it could be taken away in an instant."

Eli Rue Craven's family is in shock. I spoke with a relative this evening who says she was a happy young lady who loved to dance.
