WASHINGTON (AP) US Senator Jim Inhofe returned from a quick trip to Iraq where he was gathering information to show things are going better there than the media is portraying.
The senator says the media are only reporting on negatives in Iraq.
Inhofe has been to Iraq several times in the past two years, along with a visit to Afghanistan. He returned yesterday. On this trip, he took two GOP freshman senators -- John Thune of South Dakota and Johnny Isakson of Georgia.
Inhofe -- who left Thursday -- said they would spend most of their time in Baghdad. He also hoped to meet with interim Prime Minister Ayad Allawi and possibly some of the newly elected leaders.
