OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ Auburn cornerback Carlos Rogers will be presented the Jim Thorpe Award Tuesday night at the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City.

The award is given annually to the nation's top college defensive back.

Former Oklahoma cornerback Derrick Strait won the award last year.

The Jim Thorpe Association's annual banquet begins at 7 P-M. Tickets remain available for 125 dollars.

A six-foot-one, 200-pound senior, Rogers had 40 tackles, including five for a loss. He broke up eight passes and intercepted two as Auburn finished the season 13-and-oh and ranked Number Two in the nation.
