Some Tulsa Public School students are shocked after someone stole the flagpoles from their schools.
The crooks struck two elementary schools within 48 hours. Patrick Henry at 41st and New Haven, and Jackson Elementary at 21st and North Pittsburg were hit.
When Jackson Principal Debra Halley first heard, she thought it was a joke. She thought maintenance crews were simply putting up a new one, some quick investigating proved otherwise. A thief backed in a truck, cut down the pole, and took off. "It's unbelievable that someone would even do that."
Student Kedrick McBride: "It just made me feel sad that somebody took it."
Educators suspect the thief is trying to cash-in by selling the poles as scrap metal. School officials caught the thief on a security camera.
They would not give the News on 6 the pictures because they're now part of a police investigation.
