Two Tulsa high school seniors suspended for fighting at a football game took their case to the school board Thursday night.
The players want the suspensions overturned. They are allowed to stay in school during the appeal, but they could be forced out if the suspension stands. Both were on the field during a fight between players for Claremore and the Tulsa School of Science and Technology.
Tulsa Public Schools suspended three players who were seen fighting on the videotape. Only two of them appealed the decision to the board. The board heard four hours of testimony and watched the fight on tape frame by frame. They recessed after hearing the case for the administration.
The player’s side of the story will continue next week.
