ENID, Okla. (AP) -- Enid police and federal agents took a pilot into custody after finding a quarter-ton of marijuana on the man's plane.
Adam Fletcher Young had stopped at Enid Woodring Regional Airport to refuel the plane Wednesday afternoon when authorities approached him.
Police Sergeant Tim Jacobi says the 41-year-old Brenham, Texas, resident threatened them with a knife and said he wanted to die. But law officers were able to convince Young to drop the weapon and surrender.
Authorities say Young apparently took off near El Paso, Texas, and was headed for Chicago.
Jacobi says a search turned up six industrial-sized trash bags of bricked-up marijuana, valued at about $350,000.
Young was booked into the Enid city jail on a complaint of drug trafficking.
