LOS ANGELES (AP) -- A memorabilia collector is refusing to hand over OJ Simpson's press credentials to the families of his murdered ex-wife and her friend Ron Goldman.

Alfred Beardsley says he plans to return the credentials for the 1984 Olympics to Simpson, even though he could get in trouble for defying a court order.

An attorney for the Goldman family has given Beardsley a Monday deadline to produce the press pass. The collector says he feels like he's caught in the middle.

Simpson was found guilty of murder in civil court in 1997 and ordered to pay the victims' families more than 33 (m) million dollars in compensation.

The former athlete is accused of hiding assets to avoid making the payments.
