A Tulsa company will play an important role in the upcoming Iraqi elections. Global Detection Systems is supplying walk-through metal detectors for the US military.

The company shipped out 134 detectors. They are lightweight, portable, and can be assembled in about five minutes.

Randy Smith with Global Detection Systems: "I like to think that hopefully, we're saving lives and stabilizing that part of the country, as well as our homeland security and saving lives here so I'm excited to be in this industry."

Global Detection Systems also sent 2,500 hand held metal detectors to Iraq for the elections.
