The Civil Air Patrol continues to search south-central Oklahoma for a Muskogee pilot and his missing airplane.
The pilot took off from Muskogee Thursday afternoon, and landed in Paris, Texas that night. The next morning he left for Shawnee, Oklahoma, but radar contact was lost near Gerty, in Hughes County.
Dr Jack Nolen[pictured] retired at the end of December and colleagues say he was eager to do some flying. He left Davis Field in Muskogee, and the crew who helped prepare his plane understood he planned to return there the same day. Mike Anderson with Davis Field Aviation: “We try to keep track of our local customers, so we'll know when to worry, started worrying Thursday night."
The Civil Air Patrol searched over the weekend for Dr Nolen’s plane[similar to picture], after he didn't make it to Shawnee.
They've had at least a half dozen aircraft searching all day Sunday and Monday without success.
