Teacher at a Broken Arrow private school charged with rape

Broken Arrow police arrest a school teacher for having sex with a student. He's charged with 2nd degree rape.

The teacher, 31-year-old William Andrew Cornell, was arrested at his home Friday afternoon, after an overnight investigation by police.

Cornell taught at Mingo Valley Christian School at 8700 East 61st Street, a small private school affiliated with Memorial Bible Church. The school had no comment on the arrest.

Broken Arrow Police started investigating Thursday night about 7 PM, when they found the teacher and student in a parked car, off school grounds. Broken Arrow Police Captain: Paul Krotter: "They observed a car parked in a secluded area, as they got closer, windows fogged up. Made contact with people inside who were adjusting their clothing.”

Cornell taught Bible studies at the school, according to police, who say as of Friday he is no longer employed at the Mingo Valley.
