A former Muskogee County Deputy and candidate for sheriff is scheduled to go to court today.
48 year old David Meeks was arrested this weekend after police say they found drug paraphernalia in his car.
Officers say Meeks was found with a needle in his hand and a spoon on the floorboard. Those items have been sent to a lab for testing.
Meeks faces complaints of possession of a controlled dangerous substance, drug paraphernalia and tampering with evidence.
