Tulsa's ' Burning of the Greens' will instead be ' mulch'

Tulsa's Twelfth night burning of the greens was scheduled for Thursday night, but it has been cancelled.

The â€˜Burning of the Greensâ€™ is a Tulsa tradition of burning old Christmas trees. Tulsa park officials say because of Wednesdayâ€™s rain and ice, trying to ignite so many trees would mean adding some type of flammable liquid and they don't to take that risk.

The event will not be rescheduled. All the trees will be ground into mulch instead.
