OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ Retiring Senator Don Nickles is now a member of the Chesapeake Energy Corporation Board of Directors.
Oklahoma City-based Chesapeake is an independent producer of natural gas. The company focuses on drilling and property acquisitions primarily in Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas, and Louisiana.
Chesapeake's board now has eight members, including company co-founders Aubrey McClendon and Tom Ward and former Governor Frank Keating.
Nickles did not run for re-election after 24 years in the Senate. He recently formed The Nickles Group, a Washington-based consulting and business venture firm.
