A Tulsa Police officer is recovering after he was hit by a car during a traffic stop on US Highway 169 near 31st Street.

The officer had a car pulled over in the northbound lanes of 169 when they were both hit by another car. The officer was shoved over the concrete barrier and landed in the grass on the other side.

We're told he was taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries. The woman he had pulled over had to be cut out of her car.

The accident backed up traffic for miles.
