CHICKASHA, Okla. (AP) -- Authorities say they found human remains Wednesday in a Chickasha home that was destroyed by fire earlier this month.

Police believe the victim is a man who was reported missing by his mother.

Relatives haven't heard from Larry Lee since the December 5th blaze. When officers asked police to search the rubble again, they found the body Wednesday morning.

Officials haven't confirmed if the remains are those of Lee. The body was sent to the state Medical Examiner's Office.

Interim Chickasha Fire Chief Ronnie Kessler says the body may have been missed earlier because of the smoke and rubble.

It appears a large appliance fell on the victim.
