A major donation will help OU-Tulsa students dial into their future careers.
Medicine Park Telephone Company and Nortel Networks donated a phone switch to the school. The $40,000 machine is capable of everything from a simple dial tone, to advanced voice and data networking.
School officials say it will give telecommunications students valuable hands-on experience. Pramode Verma with OU Tulsa: “All in all, it's a very important acquisition for us, because it kind of completes a hole that existed in the lab when we did not have it here."
Along with the machine, the school also received several hundred thousand dollars worth of software to make it run.
