Cessna Aircraft is planning a $20-million expansion. The plant is located in Independence, Kansas.

It builds single-engine airplanes and now employs 600 people. Cessna says it plans to add another 500 workers over the next several years.

The company says it will construct two new buildings and expand another over the next year.

It's the first expansion since the company opened the plant in 1996.
