SALLISAW, Okla. (AP) -- A man was sentenced to life in prison without parole Thursday in Sallisaw for killing two people and wounding eight others.

The shooting spree began after someone criticized his driving.

District Judge John Garrett said nothing before the sentencing and Daniel Hawke Fears stood silently as the sentence was read.

Fears was an 18-year-old senior at Sallisaw High school at the time of the shootings.

His attorneys argued he suffers from schizophrenia and couldn't differentiate between reality and fantasy during the shooting spree.

Jurors rejected that argument in September when they convicted him of two counts of first-degree murder and 15 other felonies.
