Many of us will hit the roads this month and hopefully we won't have to battle with bad winter weather.
Wednesday was Winter Weather Awareness Day and Oklahoma AAA has a few tips on how to prepare in case you're stuck in the elements.
A windshield scraper and jumper cables are important to have on hand in a jam. Keep a charged cell phone nearby in case you have to call for help. They also say a first aid kit and a flashlight will help if you get hurt.
Kitty litter can help your car get out of slippery spots.
If you're forced out of your car, bottled water, some snacks and extra jackets and blankets for warmth can sustain you until help arrives.
