A Tulsa author is connecting with Iraqi children through his books. Acclaimed Tulsa author Clifton Taulbert is developing quite a following in Iraq and he didn't even know it.
Taulbert has written three "little clif" childrens books based on his childhood in Mississippi. Dozens of copies of the books ended up in a shipment to American soldiers overseas. U-S troops gave away the books along with toys to the Iraqi children. To the delight of the soldiers and Taulbert the kids love them.
Clifton Taulbert, Author: "apparently the kids responded so well to the books that captain timberburg found a way to get in touch with me personally."
Captain Timberburg emailed Taulbert and requested he send even more books to Baghdad. Tonight at ten, Clifton Taulbert shares his thoughts on why his books have become so popular half a world away.
