WEATHERFORD. Okla. (AP) _ A 150-thousand dollar federal grant is clearing the way for construction on a museum in Weatherford.
The proposed Heartland of America Museum is to be built on eleven acres along Interstate 40 in the western Oklahoma town.
No date is set for construction, but the bidding process is expected to begin in January.
The museum and grounds will include an old church, one-room schoolhouse, blacksmith shop, railroad depot and cattle corral.
Visitors also will be able to walk down the dirt streets of a 1900s-era Oklahoma main street.
