A Henryetta soldier is home for the holiday. Sergeant John Bookout is home on medical leave.

He's home for some medical tests and possible surgery resulting from injuries he received in a rocket propelled grenade attack.

He's thankful to be home but he says he really misses the guys in his unit still in Iraq. "I miss them. I wish they could be home to see their families and be as lucky as I am."

Bookout says he has to head back to Fort Hood Monday for some more medical tests and possible surgery.

He's anxious to cram in as many family and friends as he can this weekend.
