Broken Arrow shares a border with Tulsa, but when it comes to safety they are miles apart.
A new crime report tracking the most dangerous cities is out for Oklahoma. And Broken Arrow is listed as the safest city in the Sooner state.
6 in the Morning reporter Omar Villafranca says five Oklahoma cities made the list and some are in better positions than others. Tulsa, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma City, Norman and Lawton are all ranked.
And here's the bad news. Tulsa's been named the most dangerous city in the state, even though it borders the safest city in Oklahoma.
The state's two major cities were listed as the most 'dangerous' places, with Oklahoma City getting second place.
As for safest cities, Broken Arrow was first and Norman came in second. And right in the middle of the rankings is Lawton.
Nationally, Broken Arrow did pretty well. It's listed as one of the top 50 safest places to live in the United States. The annual report was done by Morgan Quitno Press.
Cities are ranked based on the FBI Uniform Crime Reports for 2003 and then put into a formula to get the rankings.
