Although the compliance rate is at an all-time high, police are out enforcing the "seatbelt law" hoping to prevent even more traffic-related deaths.

For a few hours today, Broken Arrow police were looking out for drivers who were not wearing their seatbelts.

The "Click or Ticket" traffic safety initiative continues through November 28th.

Sgt Ed Ferguson/Broken Arrow Police:
"We find about 20 percent of the drivers in Broken Arrow are unrestrained and so far we have been averaging 60 traffic citations per hour and primarily are restraint violations."

The fine for a driver or front seat passenger not wearing a seatbelt in 20-dollars.

The fine for a child under six years old, not in a proper restraint is 40-dollars.
