Pam Hobbey tells the News on 6 that a Tulsa Police officer saved her life when he shot and killed the man who was stabbing her.

It happened late Tuesday night on the 11th Street Bridge over the Arkansas River. The officer says when he arrived to the scene, he saw 46-year old Darrel Shaw stabbing Hobbey repeatedly. The officer says Shaw refused to drop the knife, so the officer fired one time. Shaw was killed.

Hobbey is out of the hospital. Tulsa Police say the she and Shaw did know each other and had been drinking before the fight began.

The police officer is on routine administrative leave until an investigation into the shooting is complete
