The US Supreme Court has refused to hear an appeal of Oklahoma's cockfighting law. The Oklahoma Supreme Court upheld the ban earlier this year, but it was appealed to the nation's high court.
The justices refused to hear the case without comment. It comes as no surprise for game bird breeders. Former cockfighter George Foster: "I had very little faith that we could get a reversal so it is not surprising to me at all."
The group Oklahomans Against Cockfighting says it is pleased with the high court's decision.
