Some generous Oklahomans and Oklahoma businesses were honored Friday in Tulsa. The Association of Fundraising Professionals hosted an awards ceremony at the Greenwood Cultural Center.

Community activist Suzanne Kneale, QuikTrip Chairman Chester Cadieux and OSU-Tulsa Development Director Marlo Duffy were honored.

Holland Hall senior Chris Gates was also recognized for his work with an African orphanage. "I came to the church last May and said 'I want to do this project'. I had visited this orphanage for street boys and they had no form of protein, so I realized they needed a form of protein, and so we came up with poultry farming would be a good way to do it."

Gates helped raise $12,000 to help the orphanage build chicken coops.
