A Veteran’s Day parade years ago in Tulsa inspired a young man to serve the country. It happened in the small town of Foyil.

Rocky DaMico is an 18 year old Marine private serving in Iraq. He decided to join the service when he was 9, after watching a Veteran’s Day parade.

His mother remembers the day well. Rocky’s mom Tracy DaMico: "I remember when they starting bringing those soldiers through, they had a big tank, they used that year, and the soldiers were waving at the kids and my son stood there and said Mom, that’s what I want to be that when I grow up."

Rocky's decision carried him through boot camp last January and now he's in Fallujah.

His mother hopes next year he'll be home - and they can go to the parade together.
